Description

Tzatziki is a classic Greek mezze that adds a refreshing touch to any meal, made with yogurt, cucumber, and garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cucumber
  • 500 g Greek yogurt
  • 23 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grate the cucumber and place it in a strainer. Add some salt and let it drain for about 30 minutes to remove excess water.
  2. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, finely chopped garlic, olive oil, and vinegar.
  3. Once the cucumber has drained, squeeze it to remove more water. Add it to the yogurt mixture.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. If desired, add chopped fresh dill.
  5. Mix well and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled. Tzatziki is perfect with pita bread, crunchy vegetables, or as a side dish for grilled meats.
