Description

A simple and delightful marble chocolate cake that stays moist for days.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 eggs
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 125 g melted butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 125 g dark chocolate
  • 1 packet baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whisk the yolks with the sugar until pale, then add the last whole egg.
  3. Incorporate the melted butter, then add the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix until homogeneous.
  4. Divide the batter in two, adding vanilla sugar to one half and melted dark chocolate to the other.
  5. Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form and gently fold them into both batters.
  6. Grease a loaf pan and pour the batters alternately to create the marbled effect.
  7. Bake for about 35 minutes, then let cool before unmolding.

Notes

Serve slices with coffee, tea, or custard for added creaminess, and top with icing sugar or a shiny ganache.
